MIFCO staff strike work over pay issue

Aizawl: About 90 employees of Mizoram Food and Allied Industries Corporation (MIFCO) did not attent office on Wednesday for non receipt of their salaries for the last 7 months.
Zonet team which visited the office found only the Chairman, Mr. C. Lalruata and the Managing Director, Mr. Lalzarliana Renthlei.
Meanwhile MIFCO Employees Association Secretary, Mr. H. Lalrochama said, the employees cannot be consoled only be words of the Ministers and what they need is money for their salaries and work.
In the meantime, Mizoram Peoples Conference Party said, what the staff of MIFCO are doing is the right step to be taken.
In a press release, the Party also expressed regret for non payment of the staff salaries for many months.
