How to get pregnant easily

Submitted by on September 7, 2010 – 1:45 amNo Comment | 1,111 views

Infertility affects millions of women every year and those women can go to extreme lengths to improve their chances of becoming pregnant. The fact is that every woman can increase their ability to ovulate and improve their odds of falling pregnant by making the right lifestyle choices.

The way you treat your body has a significant impact on how it is able to function – it’s really that simple. The more you want out of your body, the more you have to take care of it.

Start by improving ovulation

Eating a healthy diet, getting the right amount of exercise and making good lifestyle choices can have an impact on almost every phase of our lives, so why not our ability to fall pregnant?

In many women with fertility issues, ovulation itself is the culprit. Improving your diet and lifestyle can directly impact on your body’s ability to produce eggs and to maintain pregnancy once fertilisation has occurred.

Avoid trans-fats

So what exactly can you do to help your chances of becoming pregnant? You can start by avoiding trans-fats which can clog the arteries and affect circulation, which in turn impacts every other bodily function.

Cutting back on fat from red meat and using unsaturated vegetable oils like olive and canola oil can help to improve cardiac function.

Eat more whole grains and avoid refined sugars

The biggest culprit in terms of affecting ovulation is the body’s response to insulin. The more easily the body can handle insulin, the better the chances of becoming pregnant.

You can improve your body’s insulin resistance by controlling glucose levels in your food, increasing physical activity, and reducing trans-fats.

In order to control glucose you’ll want to eat more whole grains, which boost blood sugar levels, and avoid refined sugars. This means cutting back on anything heavy in sugar, including sodas.

Fat from dairy foods can help

Fat from dairy foods has also been proven to help the ovulation process, so having a dish of full-fat ice cream or yoghurt or drinking full cream milk can prove beneficial.

Make other healthy lifestyle choices

Along with eating right, there are other healthy lifestyle choices you can make which can directly affect your chances of becoming pregnant. Cut back on caffeine, smoking and alcohol (or better yet, quit altogether!), all of which can have a detrimental effect on ovulation.

And if you are overweight, losing even 2-5 kilograms can make a big difference.

Exercise can help you fall pregnant

Exercise is also extremely important. Obviously, a body that remains active is healthier overall. Exercising has been shown to have a positive effect, stimulating egg production in women who have previously had ovulation issues.

However, excess exercise can have the opposite effect. Women who exercise heavily, such as runners, have a much greater incidence of fertility problems, as too much activity can have a detrimental effect on the menstrual cycle.

Becoming pregnant can be difficult to predict, but you can improve your chances by making the right choices. Eat right, exercise in moderation and forgo unhealthy habits like smoking and drinking and your chances of becoming pregnant become much greater.

If pregnancy is your goal, take the proper steps and you’ll be on your way to motherhood before you know it!
