UGC to look into plaint against MZU VC

Aizawl/New Delhi: The Union government has promised to look into the recruitment issue in Mizoram University, according to a statement released by the Mizo Student Union.

In connection with their grievances over recruitment of teachers in Mizoram University, representatives of Mizo Student Union met the Union Human Resources Development Minister, Mr. Kapil Shibal in New Delhi on June 1.

MSU stated that Mr. Shibal informed them that their complaint on the Vice Chancellor and acquisition of land for the University will be looked into by the University Grant Commission.

Other points raised by them were reservation for Scheduled Tribes, more MBBS seats in recognized Medical Colleges of the country and setting up of NET Exam Centre for Science Stream in Mizoram University.
