Submitted by on July 15, 2010 – 1:10 am2 Comments | 551 views

Lunglen, one of the leading Mizo magazines, has been hogging the limelight in recent times due to its “attractive cover girls”.

The magazine has done it again with the July 2010 cover. (Click the picture to zoom). The editor and his team unleashed the power of pink and they managed to come up with a fresh look for the magazine.

Mizo magazine industry may be still small, but it has never been devoid of creativity. With modern printing press and better paper quality readers can now expect world-class reading materials. And with more professionally trained journalists entering the arena, the scenario promises a bright future for investors and readers alike.

im a 17yo mizo boy living in aizawl. My main intrest is business and fashion. This magazine has greatly inspired me to go after my dream of becoming a fashion designer. It is great that there is something about actual fashion and trends to read about in this magazine. I give it an A+ . But looking at the cover girls is a little bit depressing. They dont get the right attitude for the shoots, they are just plainly standing infront of the camera and they are too stiff. Although there was that one time the cover was made with the plus size girl with the white fur thingy. That was great. I look at several fashion magazines like italian vogue and elle ever so often, they are high fashion. Being mizo dosent mean we cant do what they can. A word to the editor if you are reading this,’ getting inspiration from others is not copying’. God! So much ideas and things to write but, until then. Ciao

Mizo gals are way too beautiful!! not to count myself in…lolxx >_< However, on talking bout mizo magazines, comparing the % of people who'll buy a magazine, and no. of magazines available and quality of each magazine, i'd say long way to go..! And it seems 'cover' rather than 'content' has been given first priority in the race to publish high-class magazines.. Many mags publishers seem to be lured into the belief that 'sex sells' as you would find many such related contents in many mizo magazines. I've never appreciated a cover-content mismatch magazines, as you would find many in aizawl bookstores, where you'll see hot cover gals, be it hollywood stars or korean stars, but you'd completely fail to find related stories even if u turn first to last page. Equally funny is a magazine with high quality photo paper cover with internal pages of traditional mills produced papers. Though it may prove resourceful to many offliners to find baseless internet gossips and news occupying many pages of mizo magazines, yet it really degrades the magazine's value….way to go! :)
