Train to Mizoram to be back on track soon

Aizawl: Train service between Lumding and Silchar is being normalized following clearance of the derailed Train compartments between Damchhora and Bandarkhal stations.

Quoting the Station Superintendent of Silchar Rail station, Silchar LO said that the derailed goods train has been removed from the railway tract and a portion of the damaged bridge has also been repaired.

Meanwhile Train service between Badarpur and Bairabi is also expected to be normalized in a few days.

Meanwhile the precautionary measure taken by Mizoram Government continues. According to official sources, restriction on drawal of petrol and diesel oil continues till further order.

Petrol Pumps are also instructed not to sale motor spirit and diesel oil in bulk quantity for supply to Manipur. The Supply Check Gate in Zemabawk and the Police Check Gate in Ngopa are also instructed to seize all vehicles carrying oil towards Manipur. Asking the people not to panic at this stage, the Department also clarified that there is sufficient stock of rice in the FCI godowns within the state while the supply of petrol and diesel oil still continues.
