Forest staff ‘more destructive’ than public in Mizoram
Aizawl: The North East Consultant of Indian Research Institute, Mr. Rotluanga Fanai alleged that the employees of Forest Department are more destructive than the general public.
Talking to reporters in Aizawl on June 14, Mr. Rotluanga Fanai said, the employee of Forest Department in Mamit Division shot goral for preparation of the New Year feast in 2008 and the matter reported to the Forest Department is not heeded to till today.
Referring to alleged incident of poisoning of fish in Tuirini river on 19 February, 2009 by the Forest Department Officer, Mr. Rotluanga said, the incident was reported to the PCCF office and there is no action taken in this regard so far.
He also cited a number of such incidents against which the authority in the Department fail to take action against the Department employees.
