Draft copies of Aizawl Municipal roll released

Aizawl: The draft copies of Aizawl Municipal Council Electoral Rolls were put up in the notice board of Enumerators, Assistant Municipal Electoral Registration Officer and Municipal Electoral Registration Officers on June 28 for inspection of the public.
Claims and objections will be entertained by the authority from the 1st to 10th July and the same will be examined and disposed by 23rd July and the final rolls will be published by 6th August.
As reported earlier, the draft Municipal Council Electoral Roll is prepared on the basis of the existing Village Council Electoral Rolls.
The entire Aizawl Town Area is divided into 19 areas in accordance with the population to facilitate creation of wards. The election is likely to be held in October this year.
