Second group of Bru refugees return to Mizoram

Aizawl: In the 2nd phase of home coming, 45 Bru families arrived in their respective villages on May 24 from Khakchangpara and Joysri Camps in Tripura.

When they arrived in Kanhmun by vehicles arranged by Tripura North Deputy Commissioner, Administrative officers and Police received them and escorted them to their respective villages.

The largest number of 21 families proceeded to New Eden, 13 to Kolalian, 9 to Bunghmun and 2 to Damdiai village. In reply to our Corr. the SP of Mamit, Mr. Dingluaia said, the repatriation process goes on smoothly and there was no attempt to obstruct it from any corner.

As already stated the third and final phase of repatriation slated for the 26th of this month will cover the refugees in Kaiskau and Hamsaparra camps.
