More schools to be set up, says Lal Thanhawla

Aizawl: Addressing the General Body meeting of Sarba Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) in the state capital on May 17, Chief Minister Pu Lal Thanhawla said that more schools will be set in 25 Blocks to promote easy access to eduction for villages.

The Chief Minister who also is the President of the Governing Body for SSA and RMSA underlined the need for proper implementation of the Right of Children for Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 in Mizoram for formation of good educational background for the children in Elementary Education level.

He also expressed hope that the Right to Education Act 2009 which will ensure provision of more and better training for teachers, teaching aids and equipments.

The meeting also discussed 9 agenda items which included formulation of Annual Work Plan for SSA and RMSA for 2010-2011 and constitution of one Mizoram Education Mission Society which will look after both the SSA and RMSA.
