Aizawl: In an interesting turn of events in Mizoram, Census 2010 operation that began on May 15 has hit hard at the schools in the state as many teachers have been deployed by the government to get number of its people right.
Sources in the education ministry said that Mizoram government is doing its best to adjust to the sudden shortfall in number of teachers. Yet, the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) seems to be still unhappy with the steps taken to address the issue.
In a press statement released on Friday the student body said that the “the Government must make alternative arrangement in view of a large number of school teachers deployed for census duties”.
“Large scale absence of teachers from their schools which costs discontinuation of classes in many schools will affect the student community,” it added.
