Lai District Council marks 39th anniversary

Lawngtlai: The 39th anniversary of Lai Autonomous District Council was celebrated on May 29.
Addressing the function held in Lawngtlai YLA Field, the Home Minister, Mr. R. Lalzirliana asked the District Council leaders to make the local body stable for faster implementation of development programmes.
Reacting to the poster put up by MNF Youth in Lawngtlai town area, the Home Minister said, those who do not believe in the NLUP will be deprived of the assistance.
The function was also addressed by the Chief Executive Member of LADC, Mr. C. Ngunlianchunga. The function was presided over by the Council Chairman, Mr. F. Manghnuna.
Meanwhile in Saiha, the 39th anniversary of Mara Autonomous District Council was celebrated on May 29.
Addressing the function held in the premises of District Council office, the Chief Executive Member, Mr. S. Khipo described the autonomous body as an important body for safeguarding and developing minority. The function was presided over by the Deputy Chairman, Mr. K.H. Beihlo.
