Leading by examples best moral lesson, says Mizoram govt

Aizawl, April 10, 2010 (Zonet): Mizoram Chief Secretary, Mr. Vanhela Pachuau said, the most effective instrument for moral reformation is setting living examples.

Addressing moral reform awareness seminar for school teachers held in Education Department’s Conference Hall yesterday the Chief Secretary asked the leaders of the Government, the Church and voluntary organizations to set example for others.

Mr Pachuau also regretted that there are some Government servants not free from corruption in their offices who still play the leading role in the Church activities. The Chief Secretary also asked the politicians, leader of NGOs and Churches not to plead for exoneration of corrupt Government servants when the Government initiates action against them.

Addressing the seminar, the Moral Reformation Chairman, Rev. K. Lungmuana said, the role of teachers is the most important for moral reformation. He asked the teachers to take due care in their languages and create good atmosphere for their studies. He also underlined the need for giving guidance to the children in the word of God.

The seminar was presided over the Moral Reformation Treasurer, Mr. Chhawnvunga.
