Shillong, March 21, 2010: The Meghalaya Police in a joint operation with the CRPF have arrested three suspected militants of the Mizoram-based Hmar People’s Convention (D) militant outfit here on March 19 evening.

The three persons identified as Ramhluo Pangamte, Himsang Infimate and Biaka Fanai were arrested from Pdengshnong Madanryting.

The police have also recovered one M20 pistol and two mobile handsets from the suspected militants. Several indiscriminating documents related to the outfit were recovered from the house of Biaka Fani.

Meanwhile, the trio has been remanded to judicial custody and the State police have asked its Mizoram counterparts to establish their links with the militant outfit.
