Sonia to lay stadium foundation stone in Aizawl

Aizawl, March 6, 2010: UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi would lay the foundation of the first full-fledged stadium in the state in Aizawl on today.
Gandhi would lay the foundation of the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium during her one-day visit and would return to Delhi on the same day, state Sports and Youth Services Minister Zodintluanga said on Wednesday.
The construction of the stadium at Mualpui area inside the headquarters of the third battalion of the Mizoram Armed Police (MAP) has begun after Rs 25 crore was granted for the project by the 12th Finance Commission, he added.
