Mizoram govt suspends food inspector
Aizawl, March 31, 2010:Mizoram Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has placed one Inspector and storekeeper under suspension for their alleged involvement in misappropriation of rice bags, Zonet reports said.
According to Departmental sources, the suspension orders were issued on March 29 and the Department has initiated Departmental action against them.
Meanwhile the Enforcement Staff of the Department seized 100 quintals of rice from one 407 Truck today near Lengpui.
The rice bags were sold to the black marketers by the driver of Ophel Carrying contractor at the rate of 800 rupees per bag. Meanwhile the Enforcement Staff also have initiated criminal case against 5 black marketers of cooking gas.
They also have submitted FIR to the Police against one driver who allegedly misappropriated supply rice.
