Former Mizo rebels want Rs 550 crore aid
*Rs 9 lakh for members living below poverty line

Aizawl, March 10, 2010 (Zonet): The Peace Accord Mizo National Front Returnees Association (PAMRA) has asked the Central government for a special assistance of Rs 550 crore.
The former rebels submitted a memorandum in this regard to UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi here on March 6 when she was visiting the state to lay the foundation stone for a stadium.
PAMRA said the money should go to the state government for special development projects. The former rebels also said that the Central government should write off all current state debts and to approve the New Land Use Policy formulated by the Congress government.
PAMRA also asked Sonia to arrange an excursion tour for its 424 members and an assistance of Rs 9 lakh rupees for members who still remain below poverty line.
