Former Mizo chiefs want govt to expedite compensation

Aizawl, March 18, 2010: Mizo Chief Council asked the Government to take up their demand and expedite payment of land compensation to the ex-chiefs of Mizoram.

A resolution to this effect was passed in its General Assembly held in the Cooperative Conference Hall, Babutlang yesterday.

The Chief Council also expressed confidence in the leadership of Mr. Lal Thanhawla to take up their demand.

The meeting was presided over by the out going President, Col. Lalchungnunga Sailo. In the election to the new Office Bearers, Mr. Keihawla Sailo was elected President, Col. Lalchungnunga Sailo, the Vice President and Rev. Mangchhuana Sailo as the Treasurer.
