Ex-Health Minister files defamation suit against Mizoram Health Minister

Aizawl, Feb 27, 2010 (Zonet): Former Health Minister of Mizoram, Pu R. Tlanghmingthanga has submitted a written defamation petition to the Court of a Senior Civil Judge challenging allegations levelled against him by Health Minister Pu Lalrinliana Sailo, Ist class contractor Pu Selkhuma and Engineer in charge Pu Lalsangliana Chhakchhuak.
On his behalf, the petition was submitted to the Court on Feb 24 by his advocate Michael Zothankhuma.
The Court also issued a notification to the respondents to submit their written statement in this connection before March 25.
It may be recalled that Health Minister Pu Lalrinliana alleged that Rs 21 lakh was given by the contractor to the former Health Minister, the Health Director and the Engineer in charge of Ayush Building construction in the premises of Aizawl Civil Hospital.
