Agri exhibition held in Serchhip

Serchhip, Feb 27, 2010 (Zonet): Agriculture and allied sector exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pu Lal Thanhawla in Serchhip Field No. II on Wednesday (Feb 24).

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the Government has taken initiative to make farming as honorable occupation for the youths who presently regard this as unsuitable job.

The Chief Minister also said that politicians required good citizens who can cooperate them for implementation of their policies just as the country needed good politicians. The function was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. H. Darzika.

Zonet reported that 2149 pieces of 87 variety of exhibits were displayed in the exhibition. The Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Lalriliani, the Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. KS Thanga and Mr. K. Lianzuala, MLA.

Side by side, the Assam Rifles also exhibited the latest arms and ammunitions. Twenty eight Power Tillers to be given to farmers on the closing day were also exhibited for public view.
