Mizo legendary singer Pi Ruati not to sing, but she will talk

Aizawl, January 1, 2010: Come, New Year, well known Mizo singer Pi Vanlalruati’s voice will be heard again on Aizawl Doordarshan! However, the evergreen singer, who has been down with cancer for some time now will not be singing anymore.
She is being interviewd for a talk show by Lelte Weekly editor Pu C Dinthanga and the broadcasting is likely to be in the first week of January.
The recordings were done on December 17. “I have made lots of mistake in life, but the little good things that I have done should be told to the people of Mizoram,” Lelte Weekly quoted Pi Ruati as saying.
“Pi Ruati has gone bald due to the deadly disease. She is now wearing a wig,” added the entertainment weekly magazine.

PS: She is or was also Amitabh Bachan’s favorite singer..!!! If i’m not mistaken, a song from Vulmawi “Tuar I Har Ngei, Chhingkhual Lenmawii” was meant for her. “Pari zun” from Pi Ruati is one of my favorite songs. May the Good Lord bless and keep you in good health.
